YOUTH MENTOR PROGRAM

KNIGHTS OF PRINCE HALL

Welcome Parents

Thank you for your interest in our organization. We are here to assist you with developing your child into a better young man.

Our goal is to expose your child to activities, experiences, and events that will impact and shape his life in a positive way.

Please take a look at what we have to offer. If you have any questions, please get in touch with any of the board members of your local council. We are excited about making a difference in the lives of young men.

What Is the Order of the Knights of Prince Hall?

An organization composed of youth ages 9 to 20, working under the sponsorship of Prince Hall Masons to encourage beneficial use of their spare time with worthwhile companions, in a wholesome educational environment and a program aiming to interest and aid youth in their all-around development. It is not necessary for a boy to have a family member who is a Prince Hall Mason.

How to Become a Member

Youth between the prescribed age limits should file an application with their local council. The character of the applicant must be vouched for by two active Knights, a Master Mason, or a majority of Knights in the local council.

What Lessons Are Taught in the Rite of Investiture?

  • Cardinal Virtues: Adoration and reverence for God, love of parents, righteous thinking, purity, patriotism, toleration, courtesy, friendship, and constancy

  • Leadership

  • No particular creed or faith is taught, but respect for Christianity and all faiths is emphasized

  • The Order of KOPH teaches signs, words, etc., but no secrets are withheld from parents

How Can Parents Get Involved?

We have a Parents Club! Parents Clubs are made up of parents who want to help, aid, and assist the council. They help with fundraisers, transportation, planning, awards banquets, and other activities as needed.

Most of all, they proudly support their child and their involvement in the Order of Knights of Prince Hall.
